Thomas Manuel

Hello! I'm Thomas Manuel. I use he/him pronouns. I'm an Indian journalist, award-winning playwright, and game designer. My journalism usually mixes art, history, science, and politics. I don't do much theatre anymore but when I did, my primary intention was to make people laugh. 

When it comes to game design, I'm still not sure where I'm headed. My primary way of figuring that out is through The Indie RPG Newsletter, a weekly word-cannonade that combines my thoughts on TTRPGs as well as a curation of everything interesting I come across. I try to make sure it's useful to both players and designers.

I'm also the community manager of the the play-by-post subreddit r/pbp and its discord server. Play-by-post remains one of my favourite ways to play RPGs. It's not for everyone - but if the pace doesn't bother you, it's a writer's paradise.

I've done a handful of freelance gigs as well - in words, layout, and cultural consulting. I'm particularly proud of being a writer for New Agenda Publishing on Orun: Post Apotheosis, Afro-Inspired, Space Opera RPG, which was kickstarted in 2018.
